Meet the 2026-2027 Executive Team

Jocelyne Tufts

Co-President

Jocelyne began dancing at the age of 3 and has trained with multiple studios across Saskatchewan including the Wilkie School of Dance, Giselle’s Showtyme Dance Studio, and The Dance Studio of Swift Current. Growing up, she danced competitively in styles such as ballet, tap, jazz, and lyrical. Jocelyne has completed her ADAPT Intermediate 3 tap and jazz exams, as well as her RAD Grade 8 and Advanced 2 ballet exams. She holds teaching certifications with CDTA and Acrobatic Arts, and has recently completed the first year of her ADAPT teaching certification. Jocelyne shares her passion for dance while teaching at Infinite Creations Dance Studio in Calgary. She’s entering the 4rd year of her Bachelor of Commerce degree and can’t wait to serve UCDC as

Rachel Mah

Co-President

Rachel Mah started dancing at the age of 4 at Premiere Dance Academy Ltd. in Calgary, Alberta. She trained at Premiere for 14 years in various styles, including ballet, pointe, jazz, lyrical, contemporary, and modern, and has competed in competitions since the age of 7. Rachel also completed numerous graded and vocational RAD ballet exams, learning up to the Advanced 1 level. She also volunteered as a student teacher during her time at Premiere, helping young children with ballet and tap classes. Rachel is currently in her 4th year of her Bachelor’s degree in Biological Sciences at the University of Calgary. Rachel is thrilled to be serving as Co-President for UofC’s dance team, UC Dance Company.

Georgia Lewis

VP of Marketing

Georgia began her dance career at the age of 5 at Shift Dance Academy in North Vancouver, B.C., where she trained in a variety of styles including jazz, lyrical, contemporary, hip hop, and ballet. She began competing at the age of 7 and went on to compete at the highest level, earning numerous overall high scores at competitions. Georgia successfully completed all graded and most vocational RAD ballet exams, up to Advanced Foundation. During her high school years, she continued to develop her training through Shift’s Peak Performance program. She is currently pursuing her degree in Design in City Innovation and is in her 3rd year. Georgia is excited to take on the role of Vice President of Marketing and looks forward to bringing her creativity and passion to the team!

Taylor Ketter

VP of Operations

Taylor found her passion for dance at the young age of 3 with King Edgar Dance Studio and later transitioned to North Calgary Dance Center. She fell in love with multiple genres including ballet, tap, jazz, lyrical, contemporary, hip hop and many more. In 2016, Taylor joined the Edge School for Athletes Dance Program in Calgary, Alberta, subsequently auditioning for the Edge Studios’ Pre Professional program and the competitive dance team. Competing since she was 8 she has received many accolades as a soloist and group dancer, including as a competing member for Team Canada Tap (2019) in Germany; and, today, is a teacher and choreographer with Counterpoint Dance Academy. Entering her 4th year of university completing a Bachelors of Science in Kinesiology she continues to dance while teaching and serving as VP of Operations for the University of Calgary Dance Team.

Elliot Strawson

Vp of Events

​Elliot began dancing when she was 4 years old, where she spent the majority of her training at Snap Dance Studios in Cochrane. She studied a wide range of styles including jazz, tap, ballet, hip hop, acro, musical theatre, and contemporary. Throughout her years of training, Elliot successfully completed both ADAPT Jazz and Tap examinations up to the Intermediate 3 level. She has also been the recipient of numerous studio and competition awards recognizing her dedication, work ethic, and sportsmanship both on and off the stage. She is currently pursuing a dual degree in French and Education, entering her 4th year this fall. As she begins her fourth season with UCDC and steps into the role of VP of Events, she is excited to bring a bright and innovative approach to team events and fundraising initiatives, helping create memorable experiences for all members throughout the year!​​​​​

Julia Kinch

VP of Communications

​Julia starting dancing at the age of 8 at Snap Dance Studios in Cochrane Alberta. She continued at the same studio throughout her entire competitive career training many styles including Jazz, Hiphop, Ballet, Tap, Contemporary etc. As a part of the intensive team, Julia got to compete a variety of routines at many different competitions and events throughout the years. Dancing competitively allowed her to learn extensive skills like teamwork, humility, and perseverance. She is currently in her third year of her Bachelor of Arts in Urban Studies, with hopes of pursuing a form of architecture in the future. Julia is eager to take on the role of Vice President of Communications, with hopes of contributing positivity and structure to the team!!

Rachel Germain

VP of Finance

Rachel began dancing at the age of 3 at Jacquie’s Dance Academy, which then became Impact Dance Company in Humboldt, Saskatchewan. She trained in a variety of styles, consisting of jazz, tap, ballet, hip-hop, lyrical, contemporary, modern, acro, pointe, and musical theatre. Rachel completed her Grade 8 Ballet exam through RAD and her Advanced Tap and Jazz exams through C.D.T.A. During her Grade 12 year, Rachel taught dance at Watson Dance Club and received several awards both as a dancer and a teacher. Rachel is currently pursuing a degree in Civil Engineering at the University of Calgary and now serves as the VP of Finance for the University of Calgary Dance Team.

Teanne Couture

Senior Advisor

Teanne began dancing at the age of 3 at Studio 747 in Shellbrook, Saskatchewan, where she trained in a variety of styles including ballet, jazz, lyrical, contemporary, tap, hip-hop, and acro. In 2016, she joined Abiding Lines Dance Company as a junior member, further advancing her training. Over the years, Teanne has received accolades, including top performer awards in 2019, 2021, and 2022 at various competitions. She has also been recognized for her creativity as a student choreographer. With over 10 years of experience in acrobatics, she is a certified Acrobatic Arts Module 1 & 2 instructor. Teanne is currently pursuing a dual degree in Dance and Kinesiology at the University of Calgary, where she serves as Senior Advisor of the University Dance Team.

Jasmine Sun

Senior Advisor

Jasmine Sun (she/her) was born in Toronto and raised in Calgary. She graduated from Edge Studios’ Pre-Professional Ballet Program and Zhaoli Dance School and is currently in her fourth year pursuing a dual degree in Dance (BA) and Kinesiology (BKin) at the University of Calgary. Jasmine joined UC Dance Company in her first year, served as Vice President of Finance in her second and third years, Co-President in her fourth, and now Senior Advisor in her fifth. Trained in ballet, contemporary, lyrical, jazz, acro, hip hop, and ballroom, she is passionate about sharing her love of dance and creating a welcoming space for university students to continue pursuing their passion.
